The Fresenius University, Faculty of Business & Media, has reached an agreement with the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) to cooperate from the winter semester 2017/2018 so that students can complete an integrated semester abroad in Australia.
Sydney has been chosen as the third international partner city, along with New York and Shanghai, where students have the opportunity for an integrated semester abroad.
The University of Technology Sydney (UTS), located in the heart of Sydney, is highly ranked in interdisciplinary teaching and research. From the winter semester 2017/2018, the Fresenius University will offer interested students the opportunity to spend a semester studying at the UTS Business School.
Prof. Hauke Müller-Späth, International Development, at the Fresenius University commented on the agreement:
“This will be a memorable opportunity for our students. They will get to know the culture of an exceptional country. In addition, they will attend lectures held together with students from Australia and other nations. This encourages multicultural exchanges. Another highlight is the lecture building, the ” Chau Chak Wing Building”. It was built by star architect Frank Gehry and is equipped with award-winning computer labs.”
With the integrated semester abroad, students at the Fresenius University may study one or two semesters in one of three cities and thereby gain valuable international experience during their undergraduate studies within the normal period. In addition to a three-month period of participation in formal lectures at the selected partner universities, subsequent time can be used freely, for example, to complete an internship.
“The strategy of internationalization by the Fresenius University, which focuses primarily on cities and metropolitan regions, allows students to participate in a very attractive and flexible programme and a growing network of locations,” said Prof. Dr. Marcus Pradel, board member of the COGNOS AG and Chairman CEO of the operating companies of the Fresenius Academy at the Cologne, Hamburg, Munich, Berlin and Dusseldorf.
