Delivery Hero Takes Over Korean Delivery Service Foodfly

For the Berlin delivery service provider Delivery Hero, Korea is becoming an increasingly important market. The company has just announced that it will takeover the Korean food delivery platform Foodfly.

Delivery Hero has previously invested in a 21 percent share of the South Korean business Fly & Company Inc., which is behind the Foodfly brand.

Foodfly is similar to Foodora and Deliveroo and has partnerships with 1,700 restaurants in Seoul that do not have their own delivery service. Foodfly has become the third Korean online delivery service in which Delivery Hero has invested. The start-up, which was founded in 2011, has already invested in the Korean companies YoGiYo and Baedaltong, although these have a slightly different concept to Foodfly. Based in Berlin,  Delivery Hero now operates, or is represented in, more than 40 countries.

Delivery Hero recently listed on the German Stock Exchange completing one of the most anticipated public offerings by a German start-up.
